Principal Mierisch of Australia Milgate Primary School Visited BNUK

From May 27 to 29, 2013, Principal Mierisch of Australia Milgate Primary School visited Beijing Normal University Kindergarten and Beijing Normal University Experimental Primary School.
On the morning of May 27, teachers of Beijing Normal University Experimental Primary School held a grand welcoming ceremony for Principal Mierisch. Principal Huang of Beijing Normal University Kindergarten accompanied Principal Mierisch during the whole reception. After the reception, Principal Huang and Du Jun, the executive principal at BNUK headquarters, hosted a forum discussing the topic of “school leadership development” with Principal Mierisch. Principal Mierisch toured the school, observing computer/whiteboard teaching activities, music class, PE class, and others.
Principal Mierisch was impressed by BNUK’s child-centered teaching method. She said students and teachers all enjoyed their school experiences. Also, she thought the curriculum of BNUK focused on developing students’ emotional and social ability as well as valuing music, arts, and physical education. She also pointed out that BNUK provided good facilities and equipment to support the children’s learning.
Australia Milgate Primary School established a sister school relationship with Beijing Normal University Kindergarten and Beijing Normal University Experimental Primary School in 2011. This was the first time for Milgate to visit China officially.
