Signing the MOU with Chaminade University of Honolulu

Our kindergarten had signed the MOU with Education Division of CHU (Chaminade University of Honolulu) on January 8, 2014. The two schools will cooperate in the Montessori Teacher Education Program, which will enable our teachers to get systemic Montessori teachers training, and help them become globally recognized professional Montessori teachers.

Since Principal Huangshan met the director of Montessori Teacher Education Program in January of 2012, both sides have been committed to promoting friendship and cooperation between the two schools, and have communicated numerous times about the China Montessori teacher training project.

The Education Division of CUH was encouraged by board members of the American Montessori Society (AMS) in 2007 to develop a combination of online and extension education programs for the China market. Meanwhile, our kindergarten Beijing Normal University Kindergarten was one of the two kindergartens, who began Montessori Curriculum research and practice back in the 1990s. The Montessori Experimental Class in our kindergarten has always been praised by both parents and experts.

CHU researched many potential schools in China, and finally selected our kindergarten as the most important partner. Our Montessori classrooms will be the demonstration classrooms for this program. According to the MOU, both sides will cooperate on enrollment, curriculum, and instruction, especially the practicing part of the program. After systemic learning of Montessori foundation theory and methods, student teachers who pass the exam will be certificated by AMS. This cooperation has significance for both sides.
