On July 16, 2012, invited by Professor Maria.Samuelsen, the chairman of 2012 Brazilian OMEP, and OMEP organization of China, Principal Huang and Ms.Xiong attended the 64th OMEP World Assembly and International Conference which was hosted by World Organization for Early Childhood Education at Mato Grosso University.
The theme of the conference was “Early Childhood Education in the 21st Century---the Right of Children to Live, Play, and Explore Their World ",focusing on "children's rights" and "education for sustainable development".Experts from 24 countries conducted a wide range of keynote speeches, discussions, workshops and panels, providing an international platform for communication among delegates.
During the meeting, Principal Huang visited Professor Ingrid P. Samuelsson, the World president of OMEP, and Professor MariaSamuelsen, the president of 2012 Brazilian OMEP. Principal Huang introduced Beijing Normal University Kindergarten to them and invited them to visit BNUK. She also talked with Principal Kong, from our sister school, Hong Kong Victoria Education Organization, and Professor Hui Li from the Hong Kong Institute of Education, as well as Professor Xin Zhou from East China Normal University.
On August 31, 2012, Principal Huang gave a lecture on the right of children to play, teachers’ training system, and education for sustainable development at this semester’s teacher training conference.
