On November 28, 2024, at the invitation of Principal Zheng Jiezhao, a delegation of 25 teachers and students led by Xia Huaying, the Principal of BNUK, and Chen Fei, the Assistant to the Principal and Director of General Affairs of the Experimental Primary School of BNU, visited the Affiliated Primary School and the Affiliated Kindergarten of Lou Hau High School, Macau. The delegation was warmly received by school leaders such as Principal Zheng Jiezhao, Li Xuemei and Chen Yu, the Directors of the Affiliated Primary School, and Huang Qishan, the Director of the Affiliated Kindergarten. This visit marked the second on-site visit by our kindergarten since the signing of the sister school agreement, coinciding with the 74th anniversary of Lou Hau High School, Macau. The delegation brought Beijing’s greetings and experienced Macau’s cultural charm and the educational characteristics of affiliated schools of Lou Hau High School, Macau. Other participants in this visit from our kindergarten including Jin Jing, the Commissary in Charge of Organization of the General Party Branch, Jin Ying, a core teacher of Main Campus, and Wei Ruoyu, a core teacher of Longyue Branch.

In the morning, guided by teachers and students of the Affiliated Primary School, the delegation visited the campus, gaining in-depth insights into the campus layout, facilities, activities, as well as the school’s culture, history and traditions. Leaders and educators from both sides engaged in lively discussions on educational philosophies and teaching methods.

Subsequently, the delegation visited the Affiliated Kindergarten, where a music game for the senior class was demonstrated, allowing the delegation to experience Macau’s kindergarten activities. The gamified organizational methods used by the Macau teachers and the lovely smiling faces of the children left a deep impression on the delegation.

Following the activity, Principal Xia Huaying presented the Affiliated Kindergarten with a complete set of the Beijing Central Axis Matching Game Seals made by BNUK’s teachers and students, along with a painting of the Beijing Central Axis created by a parent from BNU’s School of Arts and Communication. Teacher Jin Ying introduced the background of the Beijing Central Axis to the teachers and students of the Affiliated kindergarten, as well as the series of activities called “Building Models of the Beijing Central Axis Architecture” conducted by the BNUK, which received rounds of applause from the teachers and students present.

Finally, led by Director Huang Qishan, the delegation visited the classrooms, the library, outdoor play areas, the rooftop planting area, etc., interacting warmly with teachers and children.

This exchange activity is a vivid testament to the two schools’ all-weather friendship. Through this opportunity, both sides hope to deepen their understanding and learn from each other. Both sides look forward to continued cooperation in carrying forward fine traditional Chinese culture, curriculum reform, educational research, etc., sharing strengths and making progress together.
